How to Order Hosting, a VPS or a Domain on Cloudesta (Step by Step)
To order hosting, a VPS or a domain on Cloudesta, open the store at cloudesta.com, pick a product and plan, then choose a domain option: register a new domain, transfer one, or use a domain you already own. Next, select a billing cycle and any add-ons, and check out by logging in or creating an account and paying the invoice. Shared hosting activates automatically once payment is confirmed. The Cloudesta team provisions VPS and dedicated servers, usually within a few hours. This guide covers each step and what to do if something goes wrong.
Prerequisites
- A valid email address that you check regularly. Your invoices, welcome email and login details are sent there.
- Your billing details: full name, address, phone number and, if relevant, company name.
- A payment method, such as a bank card for payment through Kashier or one of the other methods shown on your invoice.
- If you are transferring a domain: access to your current registrar so you can unlock the domain and get its authorisation (EPP) code.
- If you are using an existing domain: access to its DNS or nameserver settings at your current registrar.
1. Which Cloudesta product should I choose?
Choose the product based on how much control you need:
- Shared hosting suits websites, WordPress, small shops and email on your own domain. It runs on cPanel with CloudLinux, LiteSpeed, JetBackup backups and Imunify360 security, and needs no server administration. See shared hosting plans.
- Cloud VPS or dedicated server suits custom applications, Docker, databases or anything that needs root access. It ships with Ubuntu 22.04 or 24.04 by default, root SSH access and a dedicated IPv4 address. See VPS plans.
- n8n hosting is a Cloud VPS with n8n pre-installed in Docker, for workflow automation without doing the setup yourself. See n8n hosting.
- Business email gives you professional mailboxes on your domain without a website. You will find it in the store alongside the other products.
2. How do I pick a plan and set the currency?
On the store page for your product, compare the plans and click the order button on the one you want. Prices appear in Egyptian pounds (EGP) by default. If you prefer US dollars (USD), switch currency with the currency selector in the store before you check out.
Your account's currency is set when you place your first order. If you later need it changed, open a ticket instead of creating a second account.
3. How does the domain step work?
Hosting plans ask which domain the service is for. You will see three options:
- Register a new domain: type the name you want, for example
example.com, and check availability. If it is free, it is added to your cart. - Transfer your domain: enter a domain registered elsewhere. During checkout you will need its EPP/authorisation code. The domain must be unlocked at the current registrar.
- "I will use my existing domain and update nameservers": choose this if you want to keep the domain at its current registrar. After activation, you point the domain's nameservers (or DNS records) to the values in your welcome email.
A VPS does not need a domain to work. If you are asked for a hostname, use something like server1.example.com.
4. How do I configure billing cycle and add-ons?
On the configuration step:
- Billing cycle: choose monthly, annually or another listed period. Longer cycles usually cost less per month. The total updates as you change the cycle.
- Options: for a VPS, check the operating system and location, as Cloudesta has datacenters in 7 regions. Pick the region closest to your visitors. Ubuntu 24.04 is a good default.
- Add-ons: select only what you need. You can add services later.
Check the order summary, then continue to checkout.
5. How do I check out and pay?
At checkout, either log in to your existing Cloudesta account or create a new one.
Fill in your name, email, address and phone number accurately. Domain registrations use these details, and orders with mismatched or incomplete information are more likely to be held for review.
Choose a payment method, accept the terms and complete the order. Card payments go through Kashier. The other available methods are listed on the checkout page and on the invoice itself.
An invoice is created immediately. If you leave before paying, you can pay it later from the invoices section of your client area.
6. What happens after payment?
- Shared hosting: activates automatically once payment is confirmed, normally within minutes. A welcome email arrives with your cPanel login and nameservers.
- Cloud VPS and dedicated servers: the Cloudesta team provisions them, usually within a few hours. The welcome email includes the server IP, for example
203.0.113.10, and root credentials. - n8n hosting: provisioned like a VPS, with n8n already running in Docker.
- New domains: are registered after payment.
- Domain transfers: start after payment and commonly take 5 to 7 days, depending on the old registrar and the extension.
Verify it works
In your client area, the service should show as Active and the invoice as Paid.
For a VPS, test SSH from your computer using the IP and password from your welcome email:
ssh root@203.0.113.10
For a domain, confirm the nameservers and registration status from any Linux or macOS terminal:
dig NS example.com +short
whois example.com | grep -iE 'name server|status'
The nameservers returned should match those in your welcome email. After a nameserver change, allow up to 24 to 48 hours for DNS to update everywhere.
Common problems
The domain I want is already taken
Someone else owns it. Try another extension or a variation of the name. If you already own the domain elsewhere, choose transfer or "use my existing domain" instead.
My card payment was declined
Check that the card is enabled for online and international payments, has enough balance, and that you completed any bank verification (OTP) step. Then retry from the unpaid invoice, or pay with another method listed on the invoice.
I paid but received no welcome email
Check your spam and promotions folders, and look for messages from cloudesta.com. Emails sent to you are also listed in the client area. VPS orders send the email only after provisioning finishes.
My order is still Pending or under fraud check
A pending order usually means the invoice is unpaid, so pay it. If it is paid and still pending, the order may be held for a manual check. Reply to any verification email, or open a ticket with your order number so it can be reviewed.
My domain transfer is stuck
Make sure the domain is unlocked, the EPP code is correct, and the domain was not registered or transferred in the last 60 days. Also approve any confirmation email sent to the domain's admin contact.
Frequently asked questions
Can I pay in US dollars instead of Egyptian pounds?
Yes. Switch to USD with the currency selector in the store before checkout. Prices are shown in EGP by default.
How long does a VPS take to be ready?
The Cloudesta team provisions VPS and dedicated servers manually, usually within a few hours of payment. You receive a welcome email with the IP and login details when it is ready.
Do I have to move my domain to Cloudesta to use the hosting?
No. Choose "I will use my existing domain and update nameservers," then change the nameservers at your current registrar to the ones in your welcome email.
